‘A glamorous woman (Kate Winslet) returns to her small town in rural Australia. With her sewing machine and haute couture style, she transforms the women and exacts sweet revenge on those who did her wrong.’

Directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse, and based on the novel by Rosalie Ham, The Dressmaker won critical acclaim when released in 2015.

SilverScreen is a free monthly screening programme of iconic and important Australian films.  It’s a great opportunity for audiences to access Australian film, meet other film lovers and hear from the actors, directors and producers at a post film Q&A. The films screen monthly in the comfortable theatre at Wide Angle, with plenty of opportunity for refreshments.
