Earlier in September we launched our Screen Entrepreneurs resource hub. The resource hub focusses on the core entrepreneurial areas of business skills and planning. The resource hub is an extension of our Screen Entrepreneurs workshop series that was held over three weekends across May, June and July.
Presented by industry guru Monica Davidson of Creative + Business, the workshop series was for screen freelancers and business operators that focused on the core entrepreneurial areas of business skills and planning, financial management and marketing. The workshops were practical, interactive and fun! They provided the attendees with great insight and resources to help them realise their screen business dreams.
WAT’s Screen Entrepreneurs resource hub is there to provide our members with those same insights and resources. It is a collection of largely Tasmanian-based avenues for receiving free business advice and mentorship for startups and has an arsenal of e-tools, factsheets and templates accessible to its users. Monica Davidson presents her top 10 tips for starting out and there’s advice on legal and copyright aid, marketing tips and strategies, financial and tax basics, and even a list of free office spaces.
Supported by the Tasmanian Government, the Screen Entrepreneurs resource hub was built to provide ongoing access to these valuable resources for all WAT members to encourage the growth of a thriving screen industry here in the state. If you are thinking about starting your own screen business or you are looking to improve your current one, then this resource will be highly beneficial to you.
