Hurley, Dominique

I have been a Tasmanian resident since 2006 having moved from Melbourne. I lived on the beautiful Bruny Island for 6 years however now live and work in Hobart.

I have been working in the Tasmanian film industry since 2007. I started as a production manager for a number of Short Fuse and Raw Nerve films. I received funding for my first film, Water: A Poem, through Wide Angle's Raw Nerve initiative in 2009. Water: A Poem was screened at a number of festivals in Australia. At the St Kilda Film Festival it was nominated for two awards. Since then I worked in collaboration with other Producers and Directors producing a series of short films, including A Quiet Tomorrow, Thicker Than Water. In 2012 I produced two Tropfest films, Angel Cake and Dingleberry, the latter of which was shortlisted as part of the final 60. In February 2013 I commenced working at Wide Angle as office administrator and I am currently producing Raw Nerve film, Hormones: A Musical, which will be written and directed by Meg Bignell. I was recently selected by Screen Tasmania to participate in there SilverScreen intiative.
