FREELANCE FILM FASTTRACK is an intensive three-weekend accelerator for anyone wanting to improve their professional practice in the local Tasmanian screen industry. It’s ideal for those who want to turn film dreams into a professional reality, and practitioners who are already freelancing in screen who want to improve and consolidate their business.

The focus of the intensives are business basics, money management, and marketing. The presentations are fast, fun and information-packed workshops with a practical component so that participants leave with both a breadth of knowledge and a real-world action plan to help them take the next professional steps.

Business advisor and creative industries guru Monica Davidson will deliver the workshops over three weekends. Wide Angle Tasmania is pleased to provide this opportunity to the Tasmanian screen sector, supported by the Tasmanian Government.

This series of workshops is made possible with support from Screen Tasmania, and has been heavily subsidised to ensure a minimal barrier of entry. Our aim is to ensure that anyone who would benefit from these workshops is able to access them. A similar series of workshops took place at Wide Angle in 2019, under the name Screen Entrepreneurs, and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from those who attended. We are ridiculously excited to welcome Monica back to Tasmania for Freelance Fasttrack!

The workshops are made up of the following weekends:

FREELANCE FILM FASTTRACK is designed for screen freelancers and small screen business operators. Monica will cater for those with established businesses and those who are scoping a business opportunity or just starting out. Even if you've done the previous course, come and hang out and refresh your screen-biz knowhow!

(If you are experiencing financial difficulty but would still like to do the course, please don't hesitate to contact us.)
