Flickerfest, celebrating 28 years bringing you the Best of Australian ‘Kapowerful Short Films’!
Flickerfest, Australia’s leading Academy® Award accredited and BAFTA-recognised Short Film Festival returns to Tasmania with the Best Of Australian Shorts programmes. This is a one-off chance to see these amazing short films before they continue their journey around the world; expect to experience the best in short filmmaking Australia & the world has on offer.
Friday May 3rd, 8pm-10:30pm – Best of Australian Shorts – 2019 Tour
Highlights include: the Australian Premieres of Ghostbear, following the journey of a Polar Bear cub who wanders through the arctic wasteland in search of his place in the world; Calling, a modern comedy chronicling the dysfunctional relationship between a mother and daughter through their phone conversations; and Della Mortika: Carousel of Shame, set in a fantastical world where steam is king, where life is hard, but where adventure is always adventure.
This programme is a specially curated selection of highlights from Flickerfest’s Australian Academy® Accredited competition programmes in Bondi 2018.
This event will also include a special screening of short film Karen, produced in 2018 as part of Wide Angle's NERVE initiative:
