
Final Cut Pro Intro weekend workshop
If you want to begin editing using Final Cut Pro 6 or 7, then this is the ideal course for you. Designed for beginners, you will learn how to operate this non-linear editing system. You need to have decent computer skills and a familiarity with Macs.In a small group you will start cutting straight away, working on creating a 30 second commercials as you learn the basic features of Final Cut Pro including:
- File management for FCP projects
- Capturing media
- Cutting together a Sequence
- Adding Transitions
- Adding Effects
- Generating Titles
- Adjusting Audio Levels
- Exporting to DVD using Compressor and DVD Studio Pro
- Exporting to Web
Tutor Bio - Mike Sampey
Mike Sampey has worked in film and television for the past 30 years as a producer, camera operator, sound recordist and editor. Since 2001, he has been using Final Cut Pro exclusively to edit award winning drama shorts, documentaries and corporate video productions. Mike has edited for ABCTV’s popular program “Collectors” as well as SBS. He is based in Hobart, and runs Miro Digital, a boutique postproduction facility. Mike has also edited several award winning short drama films and is passionate about the emerging Tasmanian film scene.
We cap the class at 4 students to ensure you get maximum one-on-one tutoring. nb. You will not be using or learning about Final Cut Pro X in this course.
You are required to provide your own laptop with FCP version 6 or 7 installed, unless you have discussed an alternative arrangement with Wide Angle.
