Film Genre Hothouse 12-16 year olds

Wide Angle Tasmania and Clarence City Council present an intensive workshop in filmmaking for young people interested in making films.
The workshops focus on story construction and script writing as well as all the technical aspects required for making a film, from lighting, camera, sound, staging and costume. At the end of the week participants will have written an original short film (less than 5 minutes) and learnt film craft skills through hands on workshops, seminars and the practical experience of turning two of the scripts into films. Workshops will be led by award-winning film director Lucien Simon with the support of Wide Angle Tasmania’s expertise and resources. Students from Copper Screen Academy will be cast for the films. These films will be edited by a professional and submitted into a variety of festivals, such as MyState Student Film Festival, FlickerKids and TropJnr.
