‘The Essentials’: Basic DV camera operation

Course fee: $120

Objective:
By the end of the session participants will have a basic understanding of the safe use, and simple operation of DV cameras and tripods, belonging to Wide Angle Tasmania.

Target Group:
People in the community who wish to use/hire Wide Angle Tasmania’s camera equipment and have little or no prior experience using DV camera gear.

Delivery Mode:
A one-day seminar/workshop facilitated by an industry experienced cameraperson - involving presentations, question and answer sessions plus practical exercises and assessment.

Overview:
• Participants will learn how to safely handle DV cameras and associated equipment, including fluid head tripods and camera batteries/chargers.
• Participants will understand and be able to operate all the basic functions of the DV cameras. They will also be aware of how to manually override some of the automatic functions of the cameras.
• Participants will be able to set up and operate a fluid head tripod.

‘Broadening your Skills’: Intermediate DV camera operation

Objective:
To give participants expanded knowledge of the operational functions of DV camera equipment, belonging to Wide-Angle Tasmania.

Target Group:
People, who already have a basic understanding of how to use DV cameras, wish to broaden their knowledge and begin to explore the creative use of camera controls.

Delivery Mode:
A one-day seminar/workshop facilitated by an industry experienced cameraperson - involving presentations, question and answer sessions plus practical exercises and assessment.

Overview:
• Participants will expand their knowledge of Wide Angle Tasmania’s DV camera’s and become more familiar with manual overrides and menu-controlled adjustments.
• Participants will gain an understanding of how adjusting these camera settings can enhance their film projects and help create a style or look to their work.
• Participants will be able to set up and attach external microphone and audio sources to the cameras.
• Participants will be introduced to lighting equipment and learn how to safely set it up. They will gain skills in basic lighting techniques.

DV camera 2 day Intensive - The Essentials and Broadening Your Skills

The Course:

This course combines our two very successful 1 day DV camera courses, The Essentials and Broadening Your Skills. It is designed to give intensive training in camera operation for both the novice and those who have some training, but would like to take it further.

Target Group:

People who wish to gain experience using the latest 3CCD digital video cameras. This course starts right from the basics, and very quickly builds up to look at advanced camera features and basic lighting and audio.

This course is appropriate for people who already have a basic understanding of how to use DV cameras who wish to broaden their knowledge and begin to explore the creative use of camera controls.

Objective:

To give participants expanded knowledge of the operational functions of DV 3CCD camera equipment.

A two-day seminar/workshop facilitated by an industry experienced cameraperson - involving presentations, question and answer sessions plus practical exercises and assessment.
